Speedy Senior ®
General
Safety
-
Read ALL directions that are shipped with your scooter.
General Safety precautions are paraphrased below.
-
Steering widely with
the front wheels around tight corners will allow the scooter's rear
wheels to avoid cutting short.
-
"Slow Down. Speed Up"- Brake when going Down a Ramp - Keep speed
going up an Incline.
-
If restarting up an incline, start slow and gradually accelerate.
-
Release the throttle control lever to completely stop the
scooter.
-
Avoid potentially Hazardous inclines (wet & slippery, snow, ice, or
wet leaves).
Freewheel mode
-
The Freewheel lever allows your scooter to be pushed for short
distances, while no one is sitting on or standing next to it.
-
Freewheel mode should not be used when sitting on or standing next
the scooter.
-
Freewheel mode should be used only when necessary and avoided on
inclines and while driving.
-
The scooter is equipped with a High-Speed Limit
protection system which helps prevent excessive speed in two ways:
Key Removed: The controller activates Regenerative Braking
when the scooter is pushed faster than a maximum threshold which has
been pre-programmed. The controller acts as a speed governor in this
case.
Key
Inserted: Considerable Resistance at any speed your scooter
cannot even be started. This prevents the scooter from gaining unwanted
momentum resulting from inadvertently released manual freewheel lever
while driving the scooter.
Driving Conditions
-
Dry, level surfaces constructed with Cement or Asphalt provide
excellent stability.
-
Additionally, these scooters are designed to perform admirably
on packed soil, grass or gravel you might find in parks.
Reduce your speed on Uneven terrain or a soft surface.
Avoid Tall Grass that may be tangled in the running gear.
Avoid Loose gravel and sand.
-
Use Caution when Crossing Inclines. Zigzagging up an incline
may situate you in an unsafe angle.
-
Leaning forward while driving up an incline will shift your Center
of Gravity and provide better stability.

Obstacles
-
When climbing over curbs, always approach straight at a 90° degree
angle as shown.
-
These scooters are not meant to ascend or descend porches, stairs,

Operation
-
Always turn off the
power, remove the key, and make sure freewheel mode is not on before and
after using the scooter.
-
Make sure that the seat is locked into place.
-
The
seat armrests are not weight-bearing handles. They should be retracted
while getting on and off the scooter.
-
Position
yourself as far back as possible in the scooter seat to prevent the
scooter from tipping and causing injury.
-
When reaching, bending
or leaning while seated on any scooter, keep a stable center of gravity
to prevent tipping.
-
During idle stationary positions for an extended
period of time, turn off the power to prevent accidental throttle
contact.

in performance.
