V.  Troubleshooting

Issue:  Scooter Dashboard indicates the scooter is working, but it does not move.

1.  Check the following steps, in this order, even if you have already done so:

      a.  Unplug the dashboard key, and both the left & right batteries.

      b.  Unplug the motor connector, at the right-rear corner of the battery compartment.

      c.  Move the freewheel lever, which is located on the rear section of the scooter with a yellow handle, into

freewheel position, so that you can easily move the scooter by hand.

      d.  Firmly move the freewheel lever back into drive mode until it locks into position, so that you can not move

           the scooter by hand.

      e.  Press the circuit breaker reset button several times, located between the batteries, to make sure it has

           not tripped.

      f.   Inspect the motor plug to make sure the 2 red prongs and the 2 black prongs are fully extended, and plug in

the motor connection firmly until it locks in place.

      g.  Plug in the left & right batteries firmly.

      h.  Turn the speed control to the slowest setting, and then just slightly faster by 1/8 of a turn.

      i.  Plug in the key to the dashboard, and check the following:

                         i) scooter is fully charged

ii) red Status light is lit up

iii) battery indicator gauge shows a full charge

iv) operate the headlight switch to make sure the headlight is working

                        v) operate the horn to make sure it is working

      j.  Check the operation of the scooter by pressing the throttle lever forward or reverse.

                        i)  If the scooter still does not move, listen for a clicking sound coming from the rear section of the

scooter, where the transaxle is located.

ii)  If you hear a clicking sound, this is the brakes releasing, and the transaxle needs to be replaced.

iii)  If you can not hear a sound, the electrical controller is faulty.  Call Speedy Senior at 440-452-2213

                            to obtain further assistance.

Issue:  Scooter Dashboard does not indicate power unless the battery charger is plugged in.

2.  Check the following steps, in this order, even if you have already done so:

      a.  Unplug the battery charger from the charging connection on the scooter.

      b.  Unplug both batteries from the scooter, remove the key, and turn the headlight off.

      c.  Plug in both batteries firmly to the scooter.

      d.  Insert the key.  Turn on the headlight.  You should now see the headlight is on, and the battery indicator should read a full charge.

                  i) if the battery meter is not full, remove the key and plug in the battery charger for 12 hours.

ii) if the battery meter shows nothing at all, and the headlight does not work, plug in the battery charger.  If the battery meter now shows full and the headlight works, you have a bad battery.  Replace both batteries from either a local auto parts store or local supplier.  Speedy Senior can also supply batteries fro $75, which includes both batteries, new wiring, and includes shipping as well.  Send $75 by PayPal to info@speedysenior.com, with the subject as "Replacement 4G Batteries."
